Penang sacks PAS man working in Chief Minister’s office
(Bernama) – The DAP-led Penang government has sacked PAS member Mohd Fadzil Kemi from his post as communication officer in the Chief Minister’s office.
Penang State Secretary Datuk Seri Farizan Darus confirmed that the notice was hand-delivered to Fadzil, who is also Penang PAS secretary, on Friday.
“The termination of his services is with immediate effect from June 12 and he will be paid a month’s salary in lieu of the one-month notice required as provided for under the terms of his employment,” he told Bernama when contacted about the matter here Sunday.
According to the terms of the contract, signed in December last year, either party could end it without having to give any reason.
Efforts to get comments from Mohd Fadzil, who is also a member of the Penang Zakat Board, were unsuccessful.
On Saturday, Penang Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng urged PAS to ask its members holding posts in the state government to relinquish them following a fallout with DAP, who are partners in the opposition Pakatan Rakyat pact.
