Hadi would have vetoed Anwar as PM, says LKS
Kit Siang continues with attacks on PAS president as cause of break-up of Pakatan Rakyat
(Free Malaysia Today) – Anwar Ibrahim would have been blocked by PAS president Abdul Hadi Awang from becoming prime minister of Malaysia if Pakatan Rakyat had won a majority of seats at the general election in 2013, according to the DAP’s Lim Kit Siang.
In a speech in Kluang on Saturday, the DAP veteran continued his attacks on the PAS leader, whom he had accused on Friday of being single-handedly responsible for the break-up of the Pakatan Rakyat coalition.
Lim had declared the Pakatan Rakyat “dead” and awaiting funeral rites after a motion was adopted at the PAS general assembly earlier this month to sever ties with the DAP.
He said the resolution was the last straw after Hadi had previously violated Pakatan Rakyat’s common policy framework and the principle of decisions by consensus, by which no single leader could veto the decisions of the Leadership Council.
He said Hadi had acted as if he could do so, the same way he had no qualms about overriding decisions of the PAS central working committee.
