Probe on Nazri likely just formality, nothing will happen, Johor crown prince says
(MMO) – According to Malaysiakini, when pointed out that some were surprised that Nazri was investigated for inciting public mischief under the Penal Code instead of for sedition, Tunku Ismail smiled and said: “Malaysia Boleh”.
Johor crown prince Tunku Ismail Ibni Sultan Ibrahim has expressed doubt that the police investigation on Datuk Seri Mohamed Nazri Aziz’s recent attacks on him would result in a charge against the Umno minister, saying such probes are usually mere formalities.
The outspoken member of the Johor royal family who was speaking to Malaysiakini in an exclusive interview this week also suggested that it would come as no surprise to Malaysians if Nazri was indeed let off the hook for insulting royalty.
“Investigations are all formalities, I think nothing will happen,” he was quoted saying in the news portal’s article today.
“Hmm… I don’t know, but I think the people know… I think the people already anticipate what is going to happen,” he reportedly replied when asked to state if he truly believed nothing would come of the investigation.
