Ariff: Tell it straight, are those Najib’s accounts?
(FMT) – Ariff said no one had yet stated whether the two account numbers quoted were valid.
The MP for Raub, Ariff Sabri Aziz, has demanded straight answers from prime minister Najib Razak about billions being transferred into his personal banking accounts.
He criticised Najib’s supporters and media handlers for merely making ripostes to, and mere denials of, accusations by the Wall Street Journal and Sarawak Report.
A total of US$700 million (RM2.67 billion) was said to have been moved among government agencies, banks and entities linked to the controversial government-owned 1Malaysia Development Bhd to end up in two accounts at Ambank Private banking bearing Najib’s name.
Ariff said no one had yet stated whether the two account numbers quoted were valid. “The banks involved can deny if these accounts are invalid or not Najib’s. So far they have been no denials from these organisations,” he noted.
So far all that had been said were “mere denials and ‘they say that, we say this’ ripostes”.
