DAP pretending not to understand hudud, says PAS exco
(Bernama) – The DAP was today criticised for pretending not to understand the implementation of the Shariah Criminal Code II Enactment (Amendment 2015) that the PAS-led Kelantan government plans to implement.
State Exco for Islamic Development, Dakwah, Information and Regional Relations Datuk Mohd Nassuruddin Daud said non-Muslims should agree on the implementation as it did not involve them and the punishments were only meted to Muslims.
“It should not crop up because we amend according to their (DAP) wishes (that the law does not apply to non-Muslims), they should be the ones most agreeable.
“All of a sudden, they are opposing. So, it’s not that they don’t understand, (but) they pretend not to understand,” he said at a Dialogue Session and Breaking of the Fast by the Kelantan State Leaders With Media Practitioners, here last night.
The State Legislative Assembly sitting that adjourned on June 18 had yet to debate the Private Bill presented by PAS president Datuk Seri Abdul Hadi Awang on the implementation of hudud in Kelantan in order to give way to other agendas and government business.
