PAS has no reason to quit Selangor state government, says state commissioner
(Bernama) – PAS is still part of the Selangor state government as the PAS Ulama Council only revoked the party’s political cooperation with DAP.
Selangor PAS commissioner Datuk Iskandar Abdul Samad said there was no reason for PAS state assemblymen in the state executive council to quit their posts.
“PAS state assemblymen may only quit the Selangor state government if PAS has quit Pakatan Rakyat,” the PAS vice-president said in a statement today.
Iskandar stressed that the Selangor state government was still a Pakatan Rakyat government as Menteri Besar Mohamed Azmin Ali did not say the Pakatan Rakyat state government no longer existed.
In fact, the three Pakatan Rakyat parties, namely PAS, PKR and the DAP did not make any joint announcement that the Pakatan Rakyat state government no longer existed, he said.
On Saturday, the PAS Ulama Council decided that the political cooperation with DAP had been revoked following continued provocation by DAP, thus undermining the Pakatan Rakyat spirit of cooperation.
