Lester: Web designer used to forge emails for Sarawak Report

(The Star) – Former Sarawak Tribune editor Lester Melanyi claimed that the expertise of a web designer was used to fabricate emails and agreements to write stories against Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak and 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB).

In part two of his video exposé, Lester, 49, who claimed to have worked for the whistleblower Sarawak Report website, said that the designer whom he named worked part time with the Bruno Manser Fund (BMF).

He alleged that the designer faked documents under the instructions of Sarawak Report editor Clare Rewcastle-Brown.

“The web designer in London is very good in doing it. If you ask him to create money, he can create money for you and it may look genuine,” claimed Lester in the video, which was released by Ramesh Rao Krishnan Naidu, a leader of a little known non-governmental organisation.

Lester also claimed he usually contacted the designer but did not know which programme the designer used to fake the information.

However, he took aim at two of Sarawak Report’s articles – “How Jho Low Used PetroSaudi As ‘A Front’ To Siphon Billions Out Of 1MDB!” and “Riza and Jho Low face questions over bribery and tax evasion” calling them “very good fiction”.

“It will be best seller if it can come out in a novel. All being created!” claimed Lester.

Lester alleged that what Sarawak Report did was “not right”.

“I decided not to do this because I know all these things will affect the country very much and it’s not right for any human being to cheat and lie to gain something. And I’m going to do this because I know I’m doing the right thing,” he claimed.

Part one of Lester’s video confession was released on July 15, a day after Barisan Nasional communications strategist Datuk Abdul Rahman Dahlan said he was shown the video by a man who lodged a police report over the matter on the same day.
