The Edge stands by its 1MDB-PSI-Jho Low report
The financial daily also says it is willing to go to court if at all they are sued for printing unsubstantiated facts.
(Free Malaysia Today) – The Edge has stated that they are prepared to go to court to defend what they have published regarding 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB) and Penang-born businessman Jho Low thus far should any party take legal action against them. No party however has done so just yet.
“We are prepared to go to court to defend what we have published, but till today no one has taken us to court.
“We stand by what we have published. We would like to repeat what we have said before and that is we stand by all articles we have published on Jho Low and 1MDB,” an article on Malaysiakini reported of the contents of an editorial note in The Edge today.
Yesterday, the paper had published a four-page expose on how Jho Low and PetroSaudi International had “cheated Malaysia” of USD1.83 billion.
Retaliating to this latest expose, 1MDB issued an official statement late evening yesterday refuting the “recycled” allegations and condemning the report as unsubstantiated facts parading as truth.
“We are surprised that these old and unproven allegations are being recycled yet again, when in fact there are multiple on-going investigations being conducted by the lawful authorities on the issues raised previously.
