Former PMs should head ‘Save Malaysia’ coalition, Kit Siang says
(Malay Mail Online) – DAP’s Lim Kit Siang today suggested that former prime ministers such as Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad, Tun Abdullah Ahmad Badawi and former deputy prime minister Tun Musa Hitam lead the ‘Save Malaysia’ coalition to save the country from the 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB) scandal.
Speaking at a press conference today, the Gelang Patah MP asked whether these “progressive” Barisan Nasional (BN) leaders would join the coalition.
“Can such a ‘Save Malaysia’ grand coalition be convened, and who will convene it?” Lim said.
“Between progressive forces on both sides of the political divide, by the three Tuns in Malaysia who had been Prime Minister or Deputy Prime Minister namely Mahathir, Abdullah (Badawi) and Musa Hitam or by the Opposition Leader…Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim?”
Both Dr Mahathir and Musa have been critical of the way the government has addressed the 1MDB scandal.
