Umno Supreme Council to discuss 1MDB issue on Friday
(Bernama) – The Umno supreme council is expected to have a “heart-to-heart” discussion on the 1MDB issue at its meeting scheduled for Friday, according to council member Datuk Irmohizam Ibrahim.
He said all quarters were requested to wait for the meeting, seen as the best platform to discuss the issue objectively to ensure that Umno remained relevant among the people.
“We in the council will have a heart-to-heart discussion on whatever differences of opinion we may have,” he told reporters at the Hari Raya Aidilfitri reception of the Fisheries Development Authority of Malaysia (LKIM) here yesterday, reports Bernama.
Irmohizam, who is the LKIM chairman, was commenting on a statement by Deputy Prime Minister and Umno deputy president Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin who urged the government to take immediate measures to resolve the nation’s problems.
He said that prior to the supreme council meeting, Prime Minister and Umno president Datuk Seri Najib Abdul Razak was scheduled to give a closed-door briefing to divisional leaders comprising the divisional chiefs, divisional deputy chiefs, women’s wing chiefs, youth wing chiefs and puteri wing chiefs.
