Muhyiddin may have lied to Dr M, says Umno site
MyKMU.net reviews leaked video of ex-DPM discussing alleged money flow into Najib’s account.
(Free Malaysia Today) – An Umno website today expressed a suspicion that it was Muhyiddin Yassin who told former premier Mahathir Mohamad about US$700 million being allegedly siphoned into Prime Minister Najib Razak’s personal bank account.
“There is a great possibility that Muhyiddin was the person who gave the false information to Mahathir,” said a MyKMU.net article commenting on the leak of a video recording of a conversation between the former deputy prime minister, Kedah Menteri Besar Mukhriz Mahathir and former Umno Supreme Council member Abdul Kadir Sheikh Fadzir.
The article alleged that Muhyiddin had lied. It also raised the possibility that he was involved in a conspiracy with Mukhriz and Kadir to provide false information to Mahathir.
It disagreed with the theory that the video was recorded without the knowledge of the people in the discussion. “The recording was made when only a few people were present. It’s impossible that they didn’t know there was someone recording their conversation.”
In it’s review of the recording, MyKMU noted that Muhyiddin’s remarks indicated Najib never mentioned the amount that allegedly went into his account. The figure US$700 million came from Muhyiddin himself, it pointed out.
