New PAC team can see 1MDB documents in October, says minister
(The Malay Mail Online) – The formation of a new Public Accounts Committee (PAC) in October will give the parliamentary panel “ample” time to determine if documents used to support claims of financial misappropriation against 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB) were doctored, federal minister Datuk Abdul Rahman Dahlan has said.
The Barisan Nasional (BN) strategic communications director was reported by New Straits Times saying on air last night that there is evidence that the documents purportedly belonging to the state investment arm were tampered.
He added that the two-months from now to the establishment of the new PAC team will give the authorities time to investigate the matter.
“We are not saying the documents were tampered. It is from Thailand’s authorities. There is merit to postpone the meet so the agencies can re-check,” the housing, local government and urban wellbeing minister was quoted saying during TV3’s “Soal Jawab” programme last night.
