Is Mahathir Silently Working With The Opposition?

While Malaysians collectively are praying and hoping Najib’s government is ousted, please also do prepare yourself for a re-Mahathir era. Malaysia’s master of destruction is back to seek and destroy again.

We have all heard of sayings like there are no permanent friends or permanent enemies in politics, desperate times call for desperate measures and my enemy’s enemy is my friend. All these sayings very well describe the relationship between Tun Dr. Mahathir Mohamad and the crop of Opposition leaders.

We have all witnessed unruly verbal spats between Mahathir and most representatives from Pakatan over the years. The last instalment of such an event occurred during the Teluk Intan by-election. All of a sudden Lim Kit Siang appears to be interested in shouldering Mahathir and parading him across the country.

Trickles of information have hit the streets about a secret truce between Mahathir and the Opposition team, all with a common goal of toppling Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak. If rumours are to be believed, the Opposition would champion Datuk Seri Mukhriz Mahathir to lead the country if they are able to outmuscle Najib with the aid of Mahathir.

Ever wondered how the Opposition Coalition is able to match Barisan Nasional neck-in-neck in an election situation? The only way possible is magnanimous funding that is yet to be disclosed. We know for a fact that wealthy businessmen from Hong Kong strongly fund Lim Guan Eng and co. Ever wondered why Vincent Tan, a Mahathir crony who gained all his wealth through government aids, has suddenly gone against the government? It is alleged that this Mahathir-loyalist provides significant amounts of ‘donation’ to the Opposition to embattle Najib’s government. Internal sources claim it is being done with Mahathir’s blessing.

Just before the last general election, Malaysia’s scandal man Tony Pua claimed that Tan Sri Syed Mokhtar Al-Bukhary’s group of companies were having a combined debt of around RM 34 billion. Tony even claimed Malaysia was going bust with such a debt. He demanded explanations from the government on how such a debt was going to be handled. That was his biggest ammunition for the general election. However, post-election this story faded out with the wind. Why has Mr. Pua forgotten this story altogether? Perhaps a little donation to the Opposition’s funds were made to kill this conspiracy off.

Former Selangor Menteri Besar Tan Sri Muhammad Mohd Taib, popularly known as Mat Taib boldly warned UMNO members that Malaysia can go bankrupt if they adhere to the leadership of Najib and continue to ignore Mahathir’s warnings. Mat Taib even attended Mahathir’s meet-the-people session early this year. On losing his position in UMNO he latched on to PAS. Now that he has become unfavourable in PAS, he has joined Gerakan Harapan Baru (GHB). Both the Lim father and son combo have invited GHB to walk hand-in-hand with them to form a new coalition. An ardent Mahathir loyalist rubbing shoulders with Mahathir’s once upon a time arch enemy? Definitely something to ponder upon.

Both Lim Guan Eng and Azmin Ali have been alleged to secretly meeting Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin. Azmin was even noted to have met Mahathir in London not long ago. What brings about such meetings? While Malaysians collectively are praying and hoping Najib’s government is ousted, please also do prepare yourself for a re-Mahathir era. Malaysia’s master of destruction is back to seek and destroy again.

Bear in mind, the grass is not always greener on the other side. While I admit there is no smoke without fire, you have to realise a fire does not continue burning unless other factors like oil continue to flame it.
