(Free Malaysia Today) – Singaporean Jessica Gurmeet Kaur, who has called Malaysia home for the last 20 years, and her family will apply for leave at the High Court of Malaya in Kuala Lumpur to file a Judicial Review against her termination from the Attorney-General’s Chambers last week. According to media reports, either she or someone acting on her behalf, consulted with the Singapore High Commission in Kuala Lumpur on her case.

The Judicial Review will also challenge the revocation of her Permanent Residence (PR) status in Malaysia, and the revocations of her children’s residence permits, according to a source close to the Singaporean woman.

According to a Malaysiakini report, Jessica will file an “explosive” affidavit in support of her Judicial Review bid.

The affidavit will detail why the authorities concerned are determined to terminate her from work at the AG’s Chambers and get her out of their way, according to an anonymous source cited by Malaysiakini.

Earlier, it had been learnt from sources that several officials, presumably from the Immigration Department, were seen in a futile wait outside a condominium in Bangsar, Kuala Lumpur, where Jessica, ostensibly facing a deporting order stays. Inspector General of Police Khalid Abu Bakar had been quoted in the media as saying that it was not the police who would be escorting the Singaporean woman to the border. “It’s not my men who are outside the condominium.”

Jessica was the head of administration and finance at the AG’s Chambers and was also attached to the Special Task Force investigating various financial scandals. The Task Force has since been disbanded by the new Attorney-General Apandi Ali.
