Azmin’s RM 30 Billion Selandor Scandal Is Disgusting
The alleged misappropriation in Selangor alone outnumbers the entire federal government. Only God knows how much more worse it will be if the Opposition were to rule the federal government.

If Datuk Seri Najib Abdul Razak’s alleged misappropriation of RM 46 billion is the mother of all scandals, then Azmin Ali’s Selangor RM 30 billion scandal is the father of it.
With regards to certification from the Companies Commission of Malaysia (CCM), a company called Darul Ehsan Investment Group Berhad (DEIG) was formed on 5th June 2015. While the DEIG website states that Azmin Ali (Selangor’s Chief Minister), Datuk Mohammed Khusrin Munawi ( Selangor State Secretory) and Datuk Noordin Sulaiman (Selangor State Financial Officer) are company directors, the CCM documents show that only Soffan Affendi bin Aminuddin and Raja Shahreen bin Raja Othman are directors. Raja Shahreen is the CEO of Menteri Besar Selangor Incorporated (MBI Selangor) while Soffan is the chief operating officer. It is postulated that around RM 30 billion worth of state assets that was previously handled by MBI Selangor is now parked under DEIG, a RM 2 company.
According to DAP’s Damansara Utama State Assemblywoman Yeo Bee Yin, about 74 Government-Linked Companies (GLCs) that was previously under MBI Selangor is currently being handledby DEIG. The objective of DEIG is to handle assets (investments, sales, land and house properties) of the Selangor State Government. Yeo has voiced her concern with the vast power invested in DEIG by Azmin.
Although DEIG handles GLCs, the fact that DEIG is a registered company under CCM enables it to handle funds and operate without acknowledgment of the Selangor State Assembly. The entire Selangor is going to be managed by a RM 2 company and the elected assemblymen will have no oversight with regards to what is happening. More worryingly is DEIG was set up without blessings of the other component parties of the Opposition.
Since the Opposition took over Selangor, the local council tax has increased by about 400%. The certification charges for new license registration also increased by about 300%. The Assessment (Cukai Pintu) charges by Shah Alam City Council (MBSA) for residents in Kampung Baru, Sungai Buloh and Kampung Baru Subang have increased by about 10 times since the Opposition started governing Selangor.
As DAP’s Assemblywomen Yeo says, there seems to be a risk that the Selangor State government is venturing and emphasizing more on the business and financial aspect of the state rather than good governance for the people. Azmin is definitely towing along the lines of Lim Guan Eng in Penang. Very soon, squatters and villages in Selangor too will be destroyed for high-end condominiums for the rich. As it is, the common man is unable to live in the island of Penang and have moved to the mainland due to magnanimous costs of living thanks to Guan Eng. Are we going to see the same phenomenon in Selangor?
Ex-Selangor Chief Minister Tan Sri Khalid Ibrahim heaped pressure on Azmin to further clarify in detail the water restructuring cost in Selangor. The state government initially offered RM 9.65 billion for acquisition cost of restructuring. However, Azmin only explained on the cost of RM 2 billion so far and have not emphasised anything on the balance acquisition cost of RM 7.65 billion. Where is the remaining RM 7 plus billion? Where are RafiziRamli, Tony Pua, DatukAmbigaSreenevasan and rest of the hypocrites? Why the silence suddenly?
The alleged misappropriation in Selangor alone outnumbers the entire federal government. Only God knows how much more worse it will be if the Opposition were to rule the federal government. Malaysia would probably be managed by companies in Singapore and China under the Opposition coalition.
