Ex-SB deputy director challenges Rosmah’s aide to a debate

(The Malaysian Insider) – Former Special Branch deputy director Datuk Abdul Hamid Bador today challenged Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor’s special officer to a debate for alleging that the police officer was trying to sell his “latest story” by implicating the prime minister’s wife for his sudden transfer out of the force.

Hamid’s challenge was issued to Datuk Rizal Mansor, who in a Facebook post two days ago, said the police officer was following in the footsteps of his idol, Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad, in implicating Rosmah, to sell a story.

“Bekas Timbalan Pengarah Cawangan Khas Datuk Hamid Bador-juga mengikut jejak Langkah idolanya ‘terpaksa guna’ nama Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor untuk jual cerita dia yang terbaru..,” he said in his posting titled “Cara paling mudah untuk jual cerita”.

He gave a few examples and made a reference to Hamid and Tun Dr Mahathir, Pandan MP Rafizi Ramli and former New Straits Times group editor-in-chief Datuk A. Kadir Jasin.

Hamid had previously alleged that Rosmah had attended a high-level meeting where decisions were made to close the investigation into the 1Malaysia Development Bhd (IMDB) scandal.

“Insyallah, I do not lie. I have solid evidence to back up my claims as it happened when I was still the Special Branch deputy director,” Hamid said in a statement today.

Hamid also chided Rizal for “continuously lying”.

“Saya juga ingin bertanya samada jawatan ybhg dato’ ni lantikan politik atau tidak? Jika jawapannya “ya” sanggupkah ybhg dato naik berdebat dengan saya.? Ingat pesanan orang-orang tua kita….jangan suka berbohong. (I would also like to ask if Datuk’s position is politically appointed. If yes, would you take up my challenge for a debate? Remember the advice of our elders…do not continuously lie!”)

Hamid two days ago questioned his transfer out of the Special Branch and into “cold storage” at a new security unit in the Prime Minister’s Department.

In a statement to The Malaysian Insider, Hamid said he was directing his questions at Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, who had personally informed him of his transfer.

He wondered if the transfer had anything to do with his presence at former Attorney-General Tan Sri Abdul Gani Patail’s house two days before the public prosecutor was removed from his post.

Hamid said he was insulted with how his transfer was handled.
