PKR, PAS to hold pow wow tomorrow on new Pakatan membership
(Malay Mail Online) – Despite objections from the DAP, PKR announced today that it will meet with former ally PAS tomorrow to discuss the Islamist party’s possible entry into the soon-to-be-formed opposition coalition to replace the now-defunct Pakatan Rakyat (PR).
According to PKR vice-president Rafizi Ramli, the meeting is intended to gather feedback from the Islamic party for possible contribution to the creation of the new pact’s common policy framework.
“Our president has started the process of engaging and sitting down with every party so we’ve sat down with Amanah last Wednesday, PAS is next, DAP maybe we haven’t decided but we’ve extended invitations although DAP there aren’t very many issues.
“But it’s a process you have to go through… it’s about sitting with them listening to concerns and dos and don’t,” he said on the sidelines of the Kongres Mahasiswa Kebangsaan forum.
