Effigies of two Lims set afire at Umno Kota Baru meet
Division head says Lim Kit Siang and Lim Guan Eng are tearing the Malays apart and perpetuating lies.
(Free Malaysia Today) – Amidst cries of “Hidup Melayu” (Long live the Malays) and Allahu Akbar (Allah is great), two effigies of Lim Kit Siang and Lim Guan Eng, the father-son duo of DAP were set ablaze to the urgings of the crowd who shouted “Bakar! Bakar! Bakar!” (Burn! Burn! Burn!).
This was the scene that unfolded at a Sunday Umno Kota Baru divisional meeting led by its chief Mohd Fatmi Che Salleh, who called on the crowd to participate in the “red wave” so the world would know the might of the Malays during the Red Shirts rally this Wednesday, September 16.
In the 4:16-minute video, Fatmi called the two Lims “celaka”, a swear word, and accused the duo of tearing the Malays apart and causing discord in the country.
“We will burn these Bersih effigies as a symbolic gesture … they (Kit Siang and Guan Eng) are liars, do you agree?” he asked the crowd, to which they replied with a resounding “yes”.
Fatmi, the former political secretary of Prime Minister Najib Razak, also called on all Malays to don their red shirts and head to Kuala Lumpur, the gathering point of the rally.
“Come all, to defend your religion, race and nation. Let us together march to Kuala Lumpur. Make sure everyone in the country wears their red shirt this September 16,” he boomed into his microphone to a cheering crowd.
The effigies were then set ablaze.
