DAP as hard as PAS to deal with, says PKR
Tian Chua calls on the two parties to set aside their prejudices
(Free Malaysia Today) – PKR finds DAP as intractable as PAS as it tries to mediate between the two, according to Batu MP Tian Chua.
Addressing a press conference today, Chua, who is a PKR vice-president, said, “I want to stress that the problems we face now are not only with PAS but also DAP because it places many terms and conditions on working together.”
He called on the two parties to put their prejudices aside at the next meeting of opposition parties, probably this weekend.
“We need to cooperate to deal with several core issues plaguing the nation,” he said.
Chua said it was important for the oppositon parties to agree to take a common stand on issues that would come up at the next parliament sitting, which begins next week.
“We need to cooperate and deal with current issues such as the no confidence vote (against Prime Minister Najib Razak) and possibly the amendment to the Multimedia Act,” he said.
He said the most recent meeting of the parties was nevertheless not a total waste. They agreed that at their next meeting, they would discuss the common approach they would take in Parliament, he added.
