Unrealistic for Pakatan Harapan to want jailed Anwar as PM, says PAS sec-gen
(MMO) – Pakatan Harapan’s selection of Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim as its prime minister-designate if it wins the general election is unfeasible since the convicted PKR de facto leader cannot hold the post, PAS secretary-general Datuk Takiyuddin Hassan said.
Local daily Utusan Malaysia reported Takiyuddin as saying that PAS also discussed the matter yesterday and had maintained that any decision made must be realistic.
“This means that in the current circumstances that Anwar is in, we can’t make a conclusive decision that he’ll be prime minister,” Takiyuddin was quoted saying in Kota Baru, Kelantan.
“We must live in the real world,” the Islamist opposition party leader added.
