Rao is the one who’s insane, says Syed Ali
The Umno man bristles over the PMSP chief’s attack on Mahathir.
(Free Malaysia Today) – Cheras Umno chief Syed Ali Alhabshee has come to the defence of Dr Mahathir Mohamad against an attack by Ramesh Rao, who leads the pro-establishment Pengerusi Pertubuhan Minda dan Sosial Prihatin (PMSP).
Referring to a remark Rao made yesterday about Mahathir’s sanity, Syed Ali said it was the PMSP President who needed to have his head examined.
Rao, at a press conference to defend Prime Minister Najib Razak against the former PM’s criticism, said: “I would ask Dr Mahathir to immediately undergo a mental examination. I think he’s gone insane. He used to oppose street demonstrations, but now he supports them. He used to oppose the foreign media, but now he supports them. He used to oppose votes of no-confidence, but now he supports them. These are all proofs that he’s now mad.”
Quoting Rao’s words as reported by FMT, Syed Ali said had no standing to make “rude and insulting” remarks about a statesman who served his country with such distinction as Mahathir did.
