Liong Sik agrees: Najib must go
Former MCA leader lines up against prime minister over ‘donation’ in his bank account.
(Free Malaysia Today) – Former MCA president Ling Liong Sik has lined up with Dr Mahathir Mohamad who has campaigned for the removal of Prime Minister Najib Razak.
Ling also stepped into another political row when he described deputy agriculture minister Tajuddin Abdul Rahman of Umno as being “kurang ajar” by remarking that he would slap Malaysian Chinese who took Malaysia’s problems to foreign countries.
Malaysiakini reported that Ling, who served 17 years as transport minister in Mahathir’s government, agreed that Najib should leave office.
“I agree with Mahathir. Because he (Najib) has taken people’s money and put it in his own personal accounts,” Ling was quoted as telling reporters.
Ling had been asked whether he agreed with Mahathir’s demands all year that Najib step down, because of his handling of the affairs of 1Malaysia Development Bhd as well as US$700 million revealed to have been deposited in his personal bank accounts shortly before the 2013 general election.
