Ku Li: No-faith vote against PM is futile
He says he will speak later about other ways to approach the problem of Najib’s leadership
(Free Malaysia Today) – Umno veteran Tengku Razaleigh Hamzah doubts that a vote of no-confidence in the leadership of Prime Minister Najib Razak will be successful, even if the Speaker of Parliament allows the motion to be tabled.
He said the Speaker, Pandikar Amin Mulia, was likely to reject the motion.
“It is our right to bring a no-confidence motion against the ruling government,” he said, “but we are also told that the Speaker can reject any motion that is not mentioned in the standing orders used inside the House.”
“Seeing that such a move would be stopped from the very beginning, it would be futile to pursue this course of action.
“But there are other ways to approach this and we will talk in a different forum.”
