Hadi to ‘wait and see’ motion’s merits
PAS president refuses to commit himself on opposition motion to unseat Najib
(Free Malaysia Today) – The PAS president, Abdul Hadi Awang, refused to commit himself on how the party would vote should the opposition table a confidence motion against the prime minister, Najib Razak.
Although Kota Baru MP Takiyuddin Hassan had said yesterday that PAS would support the motion, the party leader merely said the party would prefer to wait and see.
Hadi, MP for Marang, said: “We will see first. Wait and see what is the merits of the (motion),” he was quoted as saying to reporters on Saturday night after the party held its Himpunan Fastaqim public rally at Stadium Sultan Muhammad IV.
Although opposition politicians and former premier Dr Mahathir Mohamad have campaigned to force Najib out of office, Hadi has been quoted as warning against such a move which he said would result in chaos.
