(The Star) – Opposition leaders have had secret meetings with Barisan Nasional MPs over a motion of no confidence against the Prime Minister in the Dewan Rakyat.

PKR deputy president Mohamed Azmin Ali (pic) said that it was part of the ”strategies” to get sufficient numbers for a vote of no confidence against Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak.

He was asked if the Opposition held any discussions with any Barisan MPs to support the motion after chairing the weekly Selangor Economic Action Council meeting here Thursday.

When asked if there were ”meetings” held for the purpose, Azmin said, ”Yes, meetings. That’s plural, you know.”

However, Azmin did not reveal how many MPs from the Opposition and Barisan supported the motion.

”I can’t reveal (how many) now but certainly that is the expectation. We must take this opportunity to express the rakyat’s sentiments that we need a strong, new leadership in Putrajaya,” said Azmin.

He added that he hoped Barisan MPs would take the opportunity to come on board with the Opposition to support the motion.
