Zahid: PAC members should be sworn to secrecy
Any statement on public hearings should come from the PAC Chairman and not any individual member.
(Free Malaysia Today) – Bagan Datoh MP who is also Home Minister and Deputy Prime Minister, has proposed that members of the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) be sworn to secrecy to prevent leaks.
“I have proposed that PAC members take a compulsory oath of secrecy so that there would be no leakages from the Committee,” said Zahid at a press conference in the lobby of Parliament House.
“The head of the parliamentary select committee, Speaker Pandikar Amin Mulia, has approved the proposal and referred it to the legal adviser to vet whether it can be implemented.”
Zahid added that any statement on public hearings should come from the PAC Chairman and not any individual member who may be expressing his or her personal opinion.
