DAP willing to help Ling, says Guan Eng
DAP no longer regards Ling as a thief
(The Malaysian Insider) – DAP is willing to assist former MCA president Tun Dr Ling Liong Sik, who is being sued for defamation by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak, if MCA is not up to the task, Lim Guan Eng said today.
Its secretary-general said DAP, despite being a political rival of MCA, is willing to offer Dr Ling help because it is a matter of principle.
“We will wait and see what MCA president Datuk Seri Liow Tiong Lai will do. Will he defend Dr Ling, and prove his mettle and that he is no “su tou wu gui” (a person who has no courage to face challenges)?
“If he cannot defend his former president, then how can he convince others that he can defend the rights of 30 million Malaysians? If it comes to that, Dr Ling will have to defend himself, but DAP is willing to extend assistance.
“We will do it because we cannot stand it. We cannot stand aside and watch Dr Ling oppressed just because he said the prime minister should step down,” he told reporters in Bukit Minyak today after the opening of Pensonic’s new head office.
