PAS stays in Selangor government, says DAP vice president

(The Edge) – There is no reason to remove PAS executive councillors from the Selangor administration line-up as the government is running smoothly and remains stable, Datuk Teng Chang Khim said.

The Selangor DAP vice president added that there was no question of PAS leaving the state government as it was bound together with DAP and PKR by the promises they had made to Selangor voters in the 13th general election.

“There is no reason for any party to leave [the state government] because all three parties are bound to the 13th general election manifesto.

“We are bound by it because we promised to deliver, in the event that we were given the chance to rule for another five years. And we will carry out the promises.

“That mandate ties us together, unless you want us to act irresponsibly and dissolve the state assembly. But that is not what the people want,” Teng told reporters at the Selangor legislative assembly yesterday.

Teng was responding to questions on the proposal a Selangor DAP delegate made during Sunday’s debate at the party’s state convention in Petaling Jaya.
