Azmin denies meeting Hadi over PAS-Umno conspiracy to work together
(The Star) – Mohamed Azmin Ali has denied allegations that a meeting took place between him and PAS president Datuk Seri Abdul Hadi Awang over a conspiracy involving PAS and Umno to work together last year.
“It is totally untrue,” he said when met after officiating the 5th Malaysia-China Entrepreneur Conference (MCEC 2015) here Saturday.
The Selangor mentri besar was asked to comment on Shah Alam MP Khalid Samad’s claims that “there is truth behind the statement” to allegations by former PAS vice-president Datuk Husam Musa that Abdul Hadi tried to form a new unity government with Umno in Selangor during the mentri besar crisis last year.
Azmin said that he had no knowledge of such conspiracy as he was not a PAS member.
Asked if he had indeed met up with Abdul Hadi last year, he said that he in fact met up with all party presidents, including from Umno.
Stressing that the state’s focus was now on delivery to the rakyat, Azmin noted that essential for his team including the state exco members is to work hard in that direction.
“As far as I’m concerned the Selangor state is strong and we will continue to deliver back to the people. Whoever wants to keep politicking, let them be. I want to talk about work. I want to work,” he added.
