DAP MP: MCA has 24 hours to reveal if received RM2.6b
(Malay Mail Online) – DAP lawmaker gave MCA today 24 hours to state if the party had received some of the RM2.6 billion given to Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak and if the money was transferred to the personal accounts of MCA leaders.
Segambut MP Lim Lip Eng said he would otherwise lodge a report with the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) to investigate MCA’s party account and the personal accounts of the Barisan Nasional (BN) component party leaders.
“How much was transferred to MCA out of the RM2.6 billion received by the prime minister?” Lim said in a statement.
“Was it transferred to MCA leaders’ personal accounts or to MCA’s official account? If it went into personal accounts, whose account received the funds? I give MCA leaders 24 hours to be open and transparent in this issue,” he added.
Former MCA president Datuk Seri Dr Chua Soi Lek reportedly said last month that some of the RM2.6 billion that Najib, who is also Umno president, had received as a political donation was used to fund BN component parties for the 13th general election.
