PM’s son-in-law threatens lawsuit against Opposition MP
Daniyar Kesikbayev’s law firm says Mohd Ariff Sabri’s “lies” are “malicious, baseless” and demands an apology within 48 hours, failing which legal action will be taken against him.
(Free Malaysia Today) – The son-in-law of Prime Minister Najib Razak has threatened to take legal action against Opposition MP Mohd Ariff Sabri for making “malicious” and “baseless” allegations about him in a recent article.
According to a report in The Star Online, Daniyar Kesikbayev’s law firm Messrs Noorhajran Mohd Noor has demanded the article be taken down immediately and an apology issued by Ariff Sabri within the next 48 hours, failing which legal action will be taken against him.
The allegations against Kesikbayev were made in the MP’s latest posting on Sakmongkol AK47 titled: “Faulty Reward System and Changeable Governments” published on Tuesday.
The article was also picked-up by Malaysia Chronicle under the title: “Son-in-law Daniyar to be Najib’s new ‘Jho Low’: Disquiet over contract to renovate Govt’s office in New York.”
In the piece, Ariff Sabri alleges that a multi-million dollar renovation project was awarded to Kesikbayev for a building in New York housing Malaysia’s permanent representative to the United Nations.
