Rahman Dahlan: Nurul wants to be PM, but ignorant of nation’s enemy
(Berita Daily) – “Izzah wants to be PM, but she herself doesn’t know who supported the mass murder of the Malaysian security forces.”
Urban Wellbeing, Housing and Local Government Minister Abdul Rahman Dahlan today supported the Sabah state assembly’s motion to bar Nurul Izzah Anwar and Tian Chua from entering the state for meeting with Jacel Kiram.
He questioned how the PKR Lembah Pantai MP could aspire to be the prime minister of Malaysia when she does not even know who the enemy of the nation is.
“Izzah wants to be PM, but she herself doesn’t know who supported the mass murder of the Malaysian security forces.
“How are they (Nurul Izzah and Tian Chua) supposed to be a leader (of the country) this way?” he asked reporters outside the Dewan Rakyat.
Rahman was responding to the motion approved earlier at the Sabah state assembly barring Nurul Izzah and fellow PKR leader Tian Chua from entering the state.
The Kota Belud MP also slammed Nurul for saying that they were merely accepting an invitation by several political parties in the Philippines.
“We cannot accept such an excuse. That is why Sabahans are angry, because the reason they gave is ridiculous.
“We must understand the sensitivity in this issue; that’s all I have to say,” he said.
Last week, Malaysia was shocked by a photo that had been circulating online showing Nurul with Jacel, the daughter of the late Sulu Sultan Jamalul Kiram.
Jamalul Kiram was responsible for the armed intrusion of Lahad Datu in 2013 that killed several members of the Malaysian security forces.
Nurul was criticised all-round and labelled as insensitive, and even accused of committing treason to the nation.
The PKR vice-president earlier today filed lawsuits against Inspector-General Police Khalid Abu Bakar and Rural and Regional Development Minister Ismail Sabri Yaakob for allegedly accusing her of treason.
“I made a clear-cut apology especially to those hurt by the (Lahad Datu) incident. It does not justify the allegations or any linkage on me with the attacks that took place in Lahad Datu.
“Because of the gravity of such strong allegations linked to treason, I am left with no choice but to sue both Ismail Sabri Yaakob and the IGP,” she said.
Nurul also said that she was summoned by the Bukit Aman police headquarters over the weekend and plans to go there tomorrow to give her statement on her meeting with Jacel.
