(Malay Mail Online) – The police are hot on the trail of Charles Suresh Morais who is now under investigation here for withholding information and sabotage following his claim this week to have information linking the death of his brother Anthony Kevin to high-level government officials.

According to Inspector-General of Police (IGP) Tan Sri Khalid Abu Bakar (pic), Charles Suresh left for Singapore in the wee hours of the morning on Thursday, shortly after he held a press conference here to reveal the contents of a statutory declaration (SD) he signed about Kevin’s death.

“He is a very irresponsible man. After he gave his press conference at his lawyer’s office he straight away left Malaysia via JB, we’re tracing him.

“We checked that he has crossed over on the Johor Bahru causeway at 1:30am that same evening. So we have open an investigation under Section 202 of the Criminal Procedure Code (CPC) for withholding information and under 124L Penal Code,” Khalid told a press conference after the inspector training graduation ceremony at the Malaysian Police Training Center today.

Section 124L of the Penal Code covers attempt to commit sabotage.

“He makes an accusation and then he runs away. Coward. What kind of human is this,” he added later.

Khalid also said that the authorities would also be calling in Charles Suresh’s lawyer Americk Sidhu to assist with investigations.

“So we will call his lawyer to facilitate us because his lawyer was so quick to help him organise his press conference so now we will call him to assist us as well,” he said.
