Charles Morais’ lawyer to be called to give statement over SD claims, says IGP

(Bernama) – Lawyer Americk Sidhu will be called soon to give his statement over the claims made by his client, Charles Suresh Morais. 

Inspector-General of Police, Tan Sri Khalid Abu Bakar said Americk should explain the various claims made by Charles over the death of his elder brother, DPP Anthony Kevin Morais.

“We will be calling him (Americk) tomorrow or the day after to record his statement. He (Charles’s lawyer) must be responsible for what he (client) has done.”

Khalid said this to reporters after closing the Karate Championship 2015 for the Inspector-General of Police Trophy at the National Sports Council Complex in Jalan Raja Muda Abdul Aziz, here, today.

Yesterday, police comfirmed that Charles had fled overseas on Thursday after making various allegations over his brother’s death. 

Recently, the social media and news portals reported on Charles making the allegations, including Kevin being involved in the investigation into the 1Malaysia Development Bhd (1MDB) case.

The body of Kevin, 55, was found in a drum filled with concrete at Persiaran Subang Mewah, Subang Jaya on Sept 16 after he was reported missing on September 4.
