(Bernama) – Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) deputy president Mohamed Azmin Ali today repeated the stand that the party will maintain its political collaboration (tahaluf siyasi) with PAS even if Parti Amanah Negara (Amanah) rejected it.

Mohamed Azmin, who is also Selangor Mentri Besar, said PKR welcomed Amanah’s participation in Pakatan Harapan, but it (PKR) would continue collaborating with PAS as decided by the party leadership.

“We are adhering to the decision of PKR Central Leadership Council meeting on Oct 11 to strengthen the Pakatan Harapan and to continue working closely and maintain our tahaluf siyasi with PAS.

“If Amanah doesn’t want to have two opposition pacts and refuses (to collaborate with) PAS, then, so be it. It’s their decision,” he told reporters after attending the state government’s agencies’ monthly meeting here today.

Mohamed Azmin was commenting on the remarks by Amanah Communication Director Khalid Abdul Samad who rejected the idea of having two opposition pacts in facing the next general election, as there already exist a Pakatan Harapan.

PKR vice-president Tian Chua had also anticipated that two opposition pact would contest at the 14th general election as PAS had refused to join the Pakatan Harapan, which comprised DAP, PKR and Amanah.
