Rahman: Muhyiddin’s no show a big disappointment
Minister says PM spoke about the 1MDB issue, RM2.6 billion donation and country’s economy to delegates who attended.
(Free Malaysia Today) – Sacked deputy prime minister Muhyiddin Yassin’s decision not to attend the Umno briefing tonight was “a big disappointment”, according to Urban Wellbeing, Housing and Local Government Minister Rahman Dahlan.
“There was an empty chair. What a waste. We were waiting for him,” Rahman told reporters after the briefing held at Putra World Trade Centre here today.
When asked if Prime Minister Najib Razak, who is also Umno President was disappointed with Muhyiddin’s no-show, Rahman replied: “He did not say this but it’s obvious that the chair was empty.”
When asked to comment on Muhyiddin’s speech last night at Kampung Baru, Rahman said the Prime Minister was very disappointed.
“He (Najib) was very disappointed with him for giving a very strong speech last night which, to him, was partly untrue and he said if he (Muhyiddin) had any problem he should have spoken using the right platform.”
According to Rahman, Najib in his speech at the briefing tonight had given an explanation to delegates on the controversial 1Malaysia Development Bhd (1MDB) issue and the RM2.6 billion donation.
