(Malay Mail Online) – All announcements concerning disciplinary action or otherwise against Umno’s estranged deputy president Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin will be made by the party secretary-general, its vice-president and Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi (pic) said tonight.

He added that the party’s supreme council meeting, which just concluded, did not touch on any action against Muhyiddin, who is said to be the subject of an ongoing internal investigation over his critical speech against Najib delivered Monday night at the Kelab Sultan Sulaiman in Kampung Baru here.

Another supreme council member and party vice-president Datuk Seri Shafie Apdal is said to be under investigation as well, for similarly critical views against Najib.

“We will leave to the secretary general to issue an announcement about it,” he told reporters when met outside the Putra World Trade Centre (PWTC).

Ahmad Zahid clarified that no other issues were discussed in the meeting today other than ironing out the details of the main general assembly tomorrow.

“Other than that no other discussions involving the disciplinary committee whatsoever happened tonight.

“Not like what is being speculated out there. Don’t try to create a negative speculation,” he told reporters before leaving.

Yesterday, Umno secretary-general Datuk Seri Tengku Adnan Mansor told reporters Muhyiddin was being investigated over his speech at Kampung Baru.

Muhyiddin had skipped out on an Umno presidential briefing at PWTC last night, in which Najib was said to have answered all the concerns raised by his deputy, including the controversial 1 Malaysia Development Berhad and RM2.6 billion donation.
