Guan Eng raps Najib over claims against DAP
(Malay Mail Online) – DAP’s Lim Guan Eng today criticised Datuk Seri Najib Razak for warning that Umno’s defeat would put Malays under the rule of the federal opposition party that the latter described as anti-Islam.
The DAP secretary-general disputed the claim by saying his party does not contest enough seats to win federal power on its own.
“What are the steps that he had taken to save the country’s economy? What are the measures to be introduced to alleviate the people’s economic woes? He should focus on these issues instead of making extremist and false statements against DAP,” Lim said in a press conference here today.
He told Najib that all these attacks against DAP will not save country’s economy or help the people.
Yesterday, Najib in his speech warned that if Umno is rejected in the next general election, the fate of the Malays and Muslims in the country will be at the hands of a DAP-led coalition that is anti-Islam and anti-Malay.
He said the people only have two options now, one is a coalition led by Umno or a coalition dominated by DAP.
