UMNO-PAS Could Be A Game Winner For BN
Although PKR vehemently denies that PAS is working with Umno, Najib’s matching pink outfit with PAS’s Abdul Hadi Awang at the opening of a conference for al-Azhar University alumni definitely showed us something is brewing between them.

Although both MCA and MIC oppose the idea of PAS joining forces with Umno, why should Umno listen to them? In the past, both MCA and MIC shared a symbiotic relationship with Umno. Each contributed their part in forming of the government. However, over the past elections, MCA and MIC have become a parasite to Umno. They form part of the government solely because of Umno’s victory. On their own, they are as good as being inexistent.
MCA is redundant as the Chinese community is almost entirely with DAP. MIC is busy figuring out who are their legal office bearers. More than working for the community, individuals are only interested in fighting for power. Umno needs a new partner to become a strong force once again.
It is evident that they see PAS as the piece that would complete their missing puzzle to dominate the political arena. What about MCA and MIC then? They would still exist, but their voice won’t matter. Whenever they howl, Umno will throw some bones towards them to play far away and they will keep quiet.
Prime Minister Najib Tun Razak is working with all might to forge a friendly coalition between Umno and PAS. Although PKR vehemently denies that PAS is working with Umno, Najib’s matching pink outfit with PAS’s Abdul Hadi Awang at the opening of a conference for al-Azhar University alumni definitely showed us something is brewing between them.
How strong would Umno-PAS relationship be? In my opinion, they would be very strong. In a split second, majority of Malay votes would swing to their favour. It is becoming obvious that the opposition is only about DAP. PKR is fighting a battle that they also don’t know about.
Menteri Besar Azmin Ali is showing us why he will be no different from Umno. Eight out of 24 Government Link Companies (GLC’s) in Selangor reported loses in 2014. Azmin spearheaded Darul Ehsan Investment Group (DEIG), which is Selangor’s version of 1MDB. Around RM10 million was approved without an open tender to paint the Kota Darul Ehsan Arch on federal highway. The Anwar family is only interested in freeing de-facto leader Anwar Ibrahim, even if it means they have to partner with terrorists. Nurul Izzah Anwar allegedly offered ex-Petro Saudi employee Xavier Justo USD$2 million worth of contracts if the opposition happens to form the federal government to buy leaked and tampered information against Najib. This when they have not even come to power. Allegations of offering Sabah to the Sulu Sultanade if PKR forms the government may just be true after all.
In Penang, non-Chinese villages with historical elements are widely being destroyed for rapid development. Most recently, redevelopment plans for a Malay-village called Kampung Selut in Sungai Pinang near George Town would destroy a more than 50-years old village with about 5,000 occupants.
While the opposition speaks loudly about the controversial Lynas Plant in Kuantan, nobody uttered a word about opening of the world’s biggest photovoltaic plant in Penang this year that is highly hazardous, which the state government silently awarded to a company that was banned in China for malpractices. The opposition sneakily played-up the 1MDB scandal to put all attention on the government while they crookedly worked in their respective states.
Although majority of Chinese are joyous with sprouting of prostitution and gambling dens under DAP’s leadership, the more culturally conservative Malays have started to cast doubts on credibility of the opposition. Believe it or not, but many of the conservatives pin their hopes on PAS. If PAS and Umno does form a pact in the near future, there is every possibility of a sweeping victory for BN in next general election.
