Delusional, Umno man raps Raja Petra over ‘Anti-Najib Club’ charge
(Malaysiakini) – Syed Ali Alhabshee has lambasted blogger Raja Petra Kamarudin for claiming that the Cheras Umno leader was part of the so-called ‘Anti-Najib Club’ (ANC).
“He is a lonely man, ranting away in his blog postings hoping to catch a few moments of limelight.
“Pathetic is the word I would use to describe Raja Petra,” the Umno man returned fire at the Malaysia Today webmaster.
Raja Petra had claimed in an article that Syed Ali was attempting to get into Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak’s good books after launching subtle attacks against him.
However, the vocal Umno leader described the blogger as being “delusional”.
“Unlike Raja Petra, who often flip-flops on his statements, I have never minced my words.
“I have always spoken my mind and expressed my political opinions at the risk of incurring the wrath of Umno leaders. And this is because I am a party man,” Syed Ali said.
Declaring that he supported all of Umno’s leaders, Syed Ali (photo) denied choreographing veiled attacks against the prime minister.
“Raja Petra, on the other hand, has switched camps and behaved like a chameleon to curry favour with powerful politicians.
“Once regarded by the federal opposition as the whistleblower, Raja Petra blew their minds when he wrote editorial pieces calling former opposition leader Anwar Ibrahim, a sodomist who has lost the moral value to lead. After that he went on a rampage against the now jailed man,” he said.
Syed Ali claimed that since Raja Petra is on self-imposed exile and wants to secure a passage home, he is attempting to score brownie points with the prime minister.
“This is shameless and appalling…,” he added.

In his article, Raja Petra claimed that when Syed Ali joined the ANC, he never considered that ousting the prime minister would hurt Umno and BN.
“Now that the ANC has lost and Najib is still in office, and will continue to be in office right up to the next general election in 2018, Syed Ali is having a change of heart.
“This is not about the Malays at all. This is about changing positions and abandoning the losing side to be with the winning side…,” he said.
Raja Petra also claimed that certain business tycoons, who were bankrolling the campaign to oust Najib, are also bailing out.
“They realise that the doors to Putrajaya are closed to them forever. All Najib has to do is to jam everything they are trying to do…
“In time, they are going to lose everything they made during the 22 years that (Dr) Mahathir (Mohamad) was prime minister. So they are bailing out by selling as much as they can while they still have some value.
“… In Malaysia you cannot do big business to the tune of billions if you are on the wrong side of Putrajaya – unless you want to only set up a kopitiam. And once you are on the ‘wrong’ side it is very difficult to return to the ‘right’ side.
“Syed Ali, however, wants to see whether he can be ‘the exception to the rule’. But then that is how Arabs do business, as the affairs in the Middle East have proven,” he added.
