There are 191 Umno divisions nationwide. Under these divisions are 21,245 currently active branches.

Umno divisions are present in every state except Sarawak:

  • Johor (26)
  • Sabah (25)
  • Perak (24)
  • Selangor (22)
  • Kedah (15)
  • Pahang (14)
  • Penang (13)
  • Kelantan (14)
  • Federal Territories (13)
  • Negeri Sembilan (8)
  • Terengganu (8)
  • Malacca (6)
  • Perlis (3)

Mukhriz Mahathir

Kedah’s 15 Umno divisions are:

  1. Langkawi
  2. Jerlun ← Mukhriz’s division
  3. Kubang Pasu
  4. Padang Terap
  5. Pokok Sena
  6. Alor Setar
  7. Kuala Kedah
  8. Pendang
  9. Jerai
  10. Sik
  11. Merbok
  12. Sungai Petani
  13. Baling
  14. Padang Serai
  15. Kulim Bandar Baru

Each Umno division, on average, might have 100 or more branches, e.g. Mukhriz’s Jerlun has 155, the Dr Mahathir-linked Kubang Pasu (126 branches), Langkawi (91), etc.

Umno Kedah has 1,963 branches. For a close comparison, Umno Selangor has 1,826 branches while Umno Kelantan has 2,119.

Umno Sabah is way ahead with the most branches at 5,328.

The party has a smaller presence in Penang (640 branches), Malacca (364) and Perlis (330).
