Police receive translated transcript of Justo’s recorded verbal statements
(Bernama) – Malaysian police received a translated transcript of the recorded verbal statements by former Petrosaudi International executive Xavier Andre Justo yesterday, to help in investigating a case pertaining to the 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB) issue.
Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Khalid Abu Bakar said the original transcript of the recording was in the Thai language, and the translation is in English.
“Give the police some time to investigate, as apart from reviewing the transcript, the police will also be examining more than 200,000 emails relating to Justo,” he told reporters during a high tea organised by the Community Policing Association in Taman Puchong Utama, here today.
On Dec 16, Khalid had confirmed that Malaysian police had finished recording Justo’s statement regarding the 1MDB issue, at a prison in Bangkok.
Justo is now serving a prison sentence for attempting to blackmail Petrosaudi International.
Earlier, Khalid had presented certificates of appreciation to policemen and members of the Malaysian Community Policing Association for their contributions to the community.
1MDB, a Malaysian sovereign wealth fund, is being probed by various Malaysian authorities over its dealings.
