The deal MACC made with DAP
So now MACC, DAP and the Bar Council are allies. They work very closely together with only one objective in mind — to bring down the Umno-led Barisan Nasional government and replace it with a DAP-led Pakatan Harapan government.
THE CORRIDORS OF POWER
Raja Petra Kamarudin
(The Malaysian Insider, 8 August 2015) – Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) officers must be allowed to carry out their investigations uninterrupted and any transfers of officers involved in the 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB) probe must be reversed, a member of the anti-graft body’s Operations Review Panel said.
Lim Chee Wee said the police’s actions against MACC from arrests to raids to transfers are being perceived by every right thinking Malaysian as a naked abuse of power.
“It gives rise to a strong inference that someone wants to shut up and shut down MACC in its investigations of a donation of an unprecedented sum and of monies related to 1MDB,” Lim told The Malaysian Insider.
He said this in response to the sudden transfer of MACC director (special operations) Datuk Bahri Mohamad Zin and MACC director of strategic communications Datuk Rohaizad Yaakob who were moved to the Prime Minister’s Department, effective Monday.
Lim Chee Wee was the President of the Malaysian Bar Council from 2011 to 2013. That was after Ragunath Kesavan and before Christopher Leong Sau Foo.
In July 2009, Teoh Beng Hock, a DAP member and employee, was found dead at the bottom of MACC’s office in Shah Alam. For two years the opposition, in particular DAP and the Bar Council, campaigned against the MACC. They insisted that Teoh Beng Hock was murdered because he was a DAP chap. They even placed a banner outside the Bar Council office ‘in memory’ of Teoh Beng Hock.
Between 2000 and 2013, 394 people were killed while ‘resisting arrest’ while another 231 were killed while under custody. But DAP and the Bar Council do not worry too much about these deaths because they are not DAP members/employees and it was not MACC that killed them. The focus is just on MACC.
In April 2011, Ahmad Sarbani Mohamed, a Customs officer said to be very pious and honest, was found dead under the same circumstance as Teoh Beng Hock. The Bar Council, however, did not place a ‘dalam kenangan’ banner for Ahmad Sarbani beside the one for Teoh Beng Hock.
There is only one person’s death that the Bar Council is concerned about. And that person is Teoh Beng Hock. In truth, Teoh Beng Hock’s death was a godsend to DAP. As much as it may be most unfortunate that a young man died under mysterious circumstances on the day he was supposed to get married, this gave DAP a huge and most valuable bargaining chip like never before.
Using the Teoh Beng Hock murder as leverage, DAP and the Bar Council managed to hold MACC to ransom. The deal was simple. DAP and the Bar Council would stop attacking MACC. In return, MACC must appoint Lim Chee Wee as a member of the Operations Review Panel.
The Teoh Beng Hock death was a real hot potato that MACC could not handle. So the Chief Commissioner, Abu Kassim Mohamed, would do anything to make the problem go away. So he agreed to the deal proposed by DAP and the Bar Council.
Thereafter the attacks stopped and Teoh Beng Hock became just a memory (dalam kenangan), no longer a cause.
So now MACC, DAP and the Bar Council are allies. They work very closely together with only one objective in mind — to bring down the Umno-led Barisan Nasional government and replace it with a DAP-led Pakatan Harapan government.
And those who lend support or give financial assistance to Pakatan Harapan, the MACC, or some members of Malaysia’s police force who are opposed to Prime Minister Najib Tun Razak, would be kebal (immune) from any corruption investigation.
One such person, who is giving financial support to certain members of Malaysia’s Special Branch who are in the ANC (Anti-Najib Campaign), would be people who own homes that you can see in the pictures below.
Of course, in spite of how he earns his money, the police and MACC would not touch this towkay balak with a ten-foot pole.
Lim Chee Wee is blocking MACC from taking disciplinary action against Bahri Mohamad Zin, the MACC officer who has gone rogue.
Further to that, Lim Kit Siang wants Lim Chee Wee to get rid of Tunku Abdul Aziz Tunku Ibrahim as Chairman of the Advisory Board of MACC. This is because Lim Kit Siang hates Tunku Aziz, who has been most critical of DAP.
Tunku Aziz knows quite a bit about DAP’s real and hidden agenda and this is worrying Lim Kit Siang. And it is because of this real and hidden agenda that Tunku Aziz left DAP in the first place. Tunku Aziz realises how dangerous DAP is and if not checked they would turn Malaysia into another Beirut.
Basically, what Tunku Aziz finds most frightening is DAP’s mission to replace a Malay government with a Chinese government. This would certainly be a recipe for a civil war. And the plan would include fielding Malay candidates in the next election so that in places like Selangor DAP can take the post of Menteri Besar.
