The Islamic State (IS) and Malaysia

The Royal Malaysian Police says the Islamic State (IS) terror organisation is planning an imminent attack on Malaysia. According to the head of the Special Branch Counter-Terrorism Division, Police had so far had foiled seven terrorists attack plots in Malaysia in 2016. In this webcast, Professor James Chin speaks to Dr. Maszlee Malik from the International Islamic University Malaysia. Dr Maszlee was given access to more than 30 detainees who were arrested for involvement with IS, Al Qaeda and other radical Islamic groups. He shares his experience talking with these detainees and possible solutions the state must adopt if they want to stop the recruitment of young Malaysians into these terror groups.
