Nazri: Muhyiddin’s like a dog biting someone’s leg
Nazri says Muhyiddin’s negative remarks has led to the current leadership having to face many obstacles.
(Free Malaysia Today) – Nazri Aziz today likened former Deputy Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin’s criticisms of Prime Minister Najib Razak’s leadership to ‘a dog biting someone’s leg’.
The tourism and culture minister also said Muhyiddin’s negative remarks had created many obstacles for the current leadership.
“If Muhyiddin continues to act like this, it will make it difficult for us. He said he’s doing this for the sake of the public.
“He thinks he was put on this earth by God to become the people’s only representative. I’m a people’s rep, Najib is a people’s rep and so is (Deputy Prime Minister Ahmad) Zahid Hamidi.
“Is he (Muhyiddin) the only people’s rep in Malaysia?” Nazri asked during a press conference at Pullman Putrajaya Lakeside here today.
Last Saturday, during an event in Port Dickson, Muhyiddin continued to speak up against Najib and his leadership on the controversial RM2.6 billionpolitical donation and 1Malaysia Development Bhd (1MDB).
Muhyiddin claimed that he knew a lot more about the RM2.6 billion donation as he had been consulted by, among others, Bank Negara Governor Zeti Akhtar Aziz, former Attorney-General Abdul Gani Patail, as well as the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) on the matter.
Nazri also took issue with the Umno deputy president’s claim that he had criticised the government as he (Muhyiddin) was “afraid of God”.
To this, Nazri replied:
“So is he trying to say that Najib, Zahid and I are not afraid of God? Are we not Muslims too?
“This behaviour is just like (former premier) Dr Mahathir (Mohamad). They can do or say whatever they want, but we can’t do the same to them.”
