Salleh agrees with Nazri on Muhyiddin’s ‘unbecoming’ attitude
Salleh says Muhyiddin is demonstrating mala fide as he is Umno deputy president.
(Free Malaysia Today) – Communications and Multimedia Minister Salleh Said Keruak agrees with Tourism and Culture Minister Nazri Aziz on the “unbecoming” attitude of former Deputy Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin.
In a statement today, Salleh said as Umno deputy president, Muhyiddin “should be supporting the president, not undermining him”.
“Nazri is correct in that Muhyiddin is demonstrating mala fide and as the deputy, this is very unbecoming of him.”
Nazri had earlier said that he would propose at the upcoming Supreme Council meeting that Muhyiddin be suspended if he continued to undermine the president.
Nazri likened Muhyiddin’s criticisms of Prime Minister Najib Razak’s leadership to “a dog biting someone’s leg”.
He also said Muhyiddin’s negative remarks had created many obstacles for the current leadership. “If Muhyiddin continues to act like this, it will make it difficult for us.”
Last Saturday, during an event in Port Dickson, Muhyiddin continued to speak up against Najib and his leadership, on the controversial RM2.6 billion political donation and 1Malaysia Development Bhd (1MDB).
Muhyiddin claimed that he knew a lot more about the RM2.6 billion donation as he had been consulted by, among others, Bank Negara Governor Zeti Akhtar Aziz, former Attorney-General Abdul Gani Patail, as well as the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission on the matter.
Salleh said Muhyiddin had said he had been briefed on the RM2.6 billion donation matter. “Previously, he said he was not too familiar with the issue and what he knows, in particular about the 1MDB matter, he read from ‘The Edge’.
“The way he issued that statement made it sound like he is in possession of a secret and that the secret is not good. So why all this drama?”
