Najib is on the offensive, says Steven Gan of Malaysiakini

Let us be honest about it. All these so-called independent, non-partisan, truth-seeking, professional, ‘voice of the people’, news portals and blogs are anything but. They are in reality part and parcel of a fighting machine. And that fighting machine is called Pakatan Harapan and the ANC. And their mission is to oust Najib in any way possible — fair means or foul.

THE CORRIDORS OF POWER

Raja Petra Kamarudin

Malaysiakini’s editor-in-chief, Steven Gan, said that the worse is yet come and that Prime Minister Najib Tun Razak is on the offensive (SEE NEWS ITEM BELOW).

I really do not know where these people have been hiding these last few months. Did I not already say that Najib was on the offensive? And have I not been saying this over at least the last seven months? Have they not been listening? Or did they not believe what I have been saying?

Let me repeat that for those hard at hearing. Najib is on the offensive. He is fed up with being the punching bag of the opposition and the ANC (Anti-Najib Campaign). He is now punching back. So better get used to it. And if you do not like it then tough. That is what happens when you keep punching someone. One day that person might punch back.

So make sure you can receive as well as you can give because that is how the game of fisticuffs is played.

Malaysiakini, The Malaysian Insider, Malaysia Chronicle, and many more such as Sarawak Report, etc., are masquerading as independent news portals and blogs. They hide behind freedom of speech and freedom of information and act as if they are not aligned to any political party and are non-partisan.

In truth, they are hardcore opposition and are as independent as Madonna is a virgin when she sang that song ‘Like a virgin’. In fact, they are even funded by the opposition and/or those opposed to the ruling party. So they do have paymasters and they do what their paymasters want them to do.

If these so-called independent news portals and blogs really only want the truth to be revealed and only want to uphold the spirit of professional journalism, then they would report both sides of the news and not only one side. Furthermore, they would not spin the news to make only one side look bad knowing that what they are reporting is not entirely true or ethical.

So they should stop whining and moaning. They decided to join the fighting force that was out to get Najib. And when you join a fighting force you should accept the occupational hazard that comes with the job. Sometimes you manage to hurt your opponent. And sometimes your opponent manages to hurt you.

I just hate it when people throw stones and then go running to the teacher crying that a stone has been thrown back at them. Be a man. When you punch you get punched back. So take it like a man and stop crying. You are not an innocent victim so stop pretending that you are. You are part of the army that is trying to oust Najib. And when you join the army you run the risk of getting hurt.

So stop whining and complaining. You are not as innocent as you are pretending to be. You chose to join the gang that was attempting to oust the Prime Minister. And you received a large amount of funding to do that job. You call others mercenaries but you are as much a mercenary as those you call mercenaries.

Hey, everyone gets paid. No one can survive on just fresh air and sunshine. Clare Rewcastle Brown is paid. Steve Gan is paid. Jahabar Sadiq is paid. Wong Chun Wei is paid. Throw any name into the air and I will bet you that that person is paid, even all those working for the opposition.

Do you think Mat Sabu is not paid? Lim Guan Eng is not paid? Azmin Ali is not paid? Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail is not paid? If you believe all these people are not paid then you will believe in the tooth fairy and Santa Claus.

Every single person both sides of the political divide are paid. The only difference is who their paymaster is. Notwithstanding that small detail, everyone is paid so there is no such thing as independent or non-partisan. We are all partisan and we all take sides. And if you believe otherwise then you are dumber than you look.

Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad, Muhyiddin Yassin, Mukhriz Mahathir, Shafie Apdal, Khairuddin Abu Hassan, and all those others in the ANC made no secret of the fact that their prime and only objective is to oust the Prime Minister. Whatever reason or excuse they may offer, the fact still remains that their prime and only objective is to oust the Prime Minister.

If Dr Mahathir was Prime Minister (or rather when he was Prime Minister) he would never tolerate this. He would never allow his adversaries to survive more than a year (like what Najib did) without suffering payback. When Anwar Ibrahim went against him in 1998, Dr Mahathir had Anwar detained without trial together with all his supporters. And he did that again in 2001. He used the ISA numerous times to remove and silence his critics.

Najib could have done what Dr Mahathir did. Dr Mahathir removed Anwar as the Deputy Prime Minister and got him sacked from Umno and as the Deputy President the very next day. Najib just removed Muhyiddin as the Deputy Prime Minister (which is his prerogative). He did not sack Muhyiddin from the party. It was Umno that took action against Muhyiddin yesterday when they could no longer tolerate his childish nonsense.

Maybe Muhyiddin forgot that he is working with just a mere ordinary member, Dr Mahathir, to oppose the party President. Instead of supporting and working with the President, he went all out for a year to try to undermine the President. So Muhyiddin committed political suicide. The party was pushed to the limit and was left with very little choice but to take action.

Actually, Muhyiddin did not realise he was being set up. After feeding Dr Mahathir with false information regarding 1MDB, which resulted in the old man making a fool of himself when he said that RM42 billion had disappeared into thin air, Dr Mahathir placed Muhyiddin in a situation where he would shoot himself in his own foot.

Yes, Mukhriz became collateral damage in this game of thrones. So Dr Mahathir made sure that Muhyiddin, too, became collateral damage. Mukhriz was pawned. So Dr Mahathir made sure that Muhyiddin became a pawn as well. Dr Mahathir gave Muhyiddin a gun and told him to shoot. But instead of shooting Najib, Muhyiddin stupidly shot himself in his own foot. And until this very morning he is still screaming for the rakyat to bangkit to oppose Najib and Umno.

And that was why Umno got rid of him yesterday, not only because of what he did, but because he was stupid. And his stupidity is being demonstrated even more when he issues statements about injustice, etc. Hello, brader, in war it is kill or be killed. And you were killed. So live with it!

Worse to come, says Malaysiakini boss

(The Malaysian Insider) – Malaysiakini editor-in-chief Steven Gan says worse will come, following the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission’s (MCMC) recent clampdown on The Malaysian Insider.

Speaking to The Weekend Australian, Gan said Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak was now “on the offensive” after MCMC blocked TMI over content that was allegedly a national security threat under Section 233 of the Communications and Multimedia Act 1998.

TMI had on Thursday published a report quoting a member of the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission’s (MACC) Operations Review Panel (ORP) who had spoken on condition of anonymity, saying MACC should resubmit its investigation papers on SRC International Sdn Bhd to the attorney-general as there was enough evidence to frame charges against Najib.

Communications and Multimedia Minister Datuk Seri Salleh Said Keruak later said TMI was blocked because the report had caused confusion among people.

Gan told The Weekend Australian that Malaysiakini had also run stories related to SRC International, adding that the news portal would likely be the government’s next target.

“This is like China,” he was quoted as saying.

“Najib has bolstered his position now to the extent that I think he’s feeling quite secure within the (ruling Umno) party and so is now going after all the remaining critics out there.

“He’s on the offensive now and we are all getting ready for more to come.”

Yesterday, police and MCMC took the statements of five TMI journalists – editor Jahabar Sadiq, managing editor Lionel Morais, assistant news editor V. Anbalagan and sub-editors Abdar Rahman Koya and Srihanasham Noordin.

They were investigated under Section 124 (i) of the Penal Code, Section 8 (a) of the Printing Presses and Publications Act 1984 and Section 233 of the Communications and Multimedia Act 1998.

Jahabar later told reporters outside the police headquarters that TMI stood by the report under investigation.

“We leave it to the authorities to investigate the matter.

“We stand by our article and we will cooperate with them on whatever they wish to investigate,” he said.

“We still have not been contacted by MCMC as to why they have blocked access to the website and for what reasons. We hope they will lift the block on the portal.”

TMI remains blocked by most telco providers.
