PAS chief has no seat at anti-Najib gathering

(The Star) – PAS president Datuk Seri Abdul Hadi Awang is not on the list of invitees for a planned gathering against Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak, event organiser Datuk Zaid Ibrahim said.

“I have said much earlier that he was not on the list of invitees. So it’s just as well that he says he is not coming.

“The invitation is only for those who aspire for change, which Hadi is certainly opposed to,” said Zaid in a WhatsApp message to The Star yesterday.

Abdul Hadi was reported as saying that he wanted no part in the gathering planned for March 27 as he wanted to be on good terms with Umno although he was anti-Umno.

Asked whether former premier Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad and former deputy prime minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin would be attending, Zaid said both had been invited.

“I have extended them an invite. Yes, they are coming,” he said.
