147 Umno chiefs show solidarity with Najib

(The Star) – A group of Umno division leaders have come out strong to condemn the actions of party leaders whom they said were conspiring with the Opposition to topple the Prime Minister.

In a show of solidarity for Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak, the 147 division chiefs criticised Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin and Datuk Seri Mukhriz Mahathir for working with the Opposition to oust Najib while still holding on to their Umno positions.

The group also condemned former prime minister and Umno president, Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad, for conspiring spearheading the citizen’s declaration, demanding the ouster of the Prime Minister.

Batu Gajah division chief Datuk Mohd Yusof Kassim, who led the group, told a press conference that the Government should terminate the positions held by leaders or former leaders in government or government-linked companies, if they were found to be instigating or going against the current system of parliamentary democracy.

“We urge the Umno supreme council and disciplinary board to take stern disciplinary action against Umno members who were involved with the citizen’s declaration and the Opposition,” Mohd Yusof said.
