Lim Guan Eng kantoi a fourth time
RM2.8mil price tag for bungalow offered in 2012, says Guan Eng
(NST) – Bungalow offered with RM2.8 million price tag in 2012, says Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng today.
He said the bungalow was not bought immediately then as he was not financially prepared to buy it then.
“With the understanding with my wife (and the landlord), they agreed to go on with that price.”
“At that time, I was not sure if I will be re-elected and if I could afford the monthly instalments.”
“We needed to find the balance (money for down payment, and when we did) we bought it in July (last year),” he told reporters after opening his bungalow for a press visit today.
Guan Eng’s house price agreed in 2014, seller says
(The Star) – The selling price of Penang Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng’s bungalow was agreed upon by both parties in 2014, the seller Phang Li Koon, said in a statutory declaration.
Phang said the price of RM2.8mil was agreed upon in an agreement dated June 23, 2014.
Phang’s statutory declaration was read out by state executive councillor Phee Boon Poh at a press conference in Komtar on Tuesday.
“I did not survey the market when I decided to sell the house to CM in 2015 because I didn’t think it was necessary, since there was already an understanding pursuant to the June agreement,” Phang, who was not present at the press conference, said in the SD.
